Jakar

A newly celebrated festival in the courtyard of Jakar Dzong in the valley of Bumthang. The festival is followed by the number of masked dance that is performed by the monks of Jakar Dzong. The locals from nearby villages offer folk songs and dances to the God and Goddess who are termed as the protector of the valleys. This event that happens annually attracts large crowds from its surrounding areas a well as from other parts.

This Festival has performed in a belief that it offers long life and prosperity. The participant at this festival also believes that purgation of sins is done by attending the festival.
